The Map
The map is the visual representation of real-world data and features. Along with the basemap, additional layers can be turned on and off and can provide details about individual features. Clicking a feature in the map will pop-up an information window describing that feature. Measuring, drawing, and selecting features by geometry are also performed in the map, as well as utilizing the navigation tools such as zoom-in, and add-on tools such as Google StreetView and Pictometry (Bird's Eye View). The tool strip in the upper right of the default map view gives a number of options to adjust the map.
There is another set of tools in the upper left that will be covered under "Map Tools".
